There is no better joy in life than riding a well-mannered horse. Whether simply enjoying a hack in the countryside or competing at a show, it is important that your horse has a clear understanding of how to behave.
With over 20 years experience backing and schooling horses, you can be assured that your youngster will have the best start to their riding career in the safe hands of Andrew Hepburn.
Andrew does not believe in rushing the process and will not use gadgets or quick fix methods that will potentially cause damage to your horse.
Your horse’s physical and mental well being will always be Andrew’s primary concern as he takes your horse through various ground training stages to develop a strong physical structure which is able to carry the weight of a rider on its back. Before moving onto the backing process which again will be carried out at a pace suitable to your horse so as to not cause undue stress and fear.
Our backing service includes our full livery package of care for your horse in our light airy stables where you horse can benefit from the friendly, calm atmosphere of our yard coupled with one to one attention and training from Andrew who will keep you up to date with your horses progress.
Very kind genuine horse people who want to help in any way they can, can’t recommend them enough they broke my young special mare in and made me feel comfortable enough to take her back for lessons and helped me gain more confidence with her. We have come on leaps and bounds and back in January with Andrews help we did our 2nd dressage year ever and came 2nd.
